Snooze, a popular Denver-based breakfast and brunch spot, now open in Plaza Midwood

Snooze: an A.M. Eatery, a popular Denver-based breakfast and brunch spot, is now open in Plaza Midwood. It’s located in the same building as Yafo at 1331 Central Ave.

Snooze has 30-plus locations with most in Colorado, California, Arizona and Texas, and it looks like Charlotte will be its first east coast restaurant.

Fun Fact: Snooze’s custom entryway installation by Boxman Studios is made from three recycled shipping containers originally manufactured in China. They were retired and brought through port cities Savannah and Charleston before landing here in Charlotte.

Given the buzz about this opening, Charlotte’s love of brunch in general and reviews from other cities, you can likely expect substantial wait times.

Snooze is open daily 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and they only accept reservations Monday through Thursday for parties of eight or more. So buckle up for that weekend brunch rush.

Don’t worry, you’ll be caffeinated while you wait. The presence of a complimentary coffee station upon entering suggests Snooze is built by design to cater to long lines.

The colorful retro-inspired restaurant has about a dozen bar seats and a mix of booth and table seating inside along with a pet-friendly outdoor patio.

Snooze’s menu is extensive and features an array of sweet and savory morning favorites from classic Benedicts, avocado toast and breakfast tacos to more unique offerings like breakfast pot pie and even a pancake flight.

Hockey puck hash browns: Snooze hash browns are served up in a unique signature shape that looks like a perfectly formed hockey puck. I’m into it. If you prefer sweets, you can always swap your side of hash browns or toast for any pancake for $4.25.

Pancake Flights: Can’t choose just one of their eight pancake options? Make it a flight and pick any three flavors, including pineapple upside down, sweet potato, blueberry danish, peanut butter cup and more.

Calorie Conscious: You’ll either loves this or hate it but Snooze prints calorie counts for all menu items. You honestly may not want to know. Watching what you eat? The “Like a Feather” menu section has lighter options like avocado toast, sweet potato hash and a grain bowl.

Pancake Flight: Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Blueberry Danish and Peachy Keen ($10.25)
OMG! French Toast: Brioche stuffed with mascarpone and topped with vanilla creme, caramel, fresh strawberries and toasted coconut ($10.25)
Everything Bacon Sensation: Everything spice brioche bun brushed with green goddess cream cheese topped with an over medium cage-free egg, bacon and citronette dressed arugula ($11.25)

They’ve also got a morning cocktail menu stacked with signature Bloody Marys and mimosas as well as a full espresso bar serving Pure Intentions Coffee.

Bangkok Bloody Mary: vodka, sriracha, lime, cilantro, basil, fish sauce and house Bloody Mary mix ($8)
