Here’s how I made my 324-square-foot, $655/month studio in Uptown feel like an upscale dorm that I love

Welcome to my home! Here’s a peek into my 324-square-foot Uptown studio that costs me $655/month in rent.

A few months ago, I moved from Ohio to Charlotte. It’s been a whirlwind of adventures and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision for a life change.

While the average rent in Charlotte is now $1,115, I was lucky to rent this affordable apartment in Uptown’s Post Gateway Place apartment complex.

I spoke to the property manager and she informed me that there are only 20 of their 324-square-foot units — but they’ve got 51 mini studios on the property in total that have between 343 square feet and 360 square feet and a similar layout.

Here’s the layout of my 324-square-foot apartment.

My studio is incredibly small but I absolutely love my little home – it actually feels more like an upscale dorm room to be honest.

My place came equipped with a ton of built-in storage, a mini kitchen, 20-foot ceiling, and even a walk-in closet! With these additions to help organize my space, I often forget how small my unit is.

It took me a while to get my place fully decorated to my satisfaction, but I am happy with how it turned out.
