The average rent in Charlotte today, according to Real Data, is $1,115. That’s close to 6 percent higher than last year.
By now, we have a solid feel for what that number will get us across the city. In South End, it’s a 472-square-foot studio ($1,080). In Uptown, it’s a 509-square-foot one-bedroom ($1,080). In NoDa, you’ll get a 775-square-foot one-bedroom ($1,091). Head down to SouthPark and you’ll find a 729-square-foot one-bedroom ($1,095).
Luxury amenities, too, are becoming standard across the board and often include fitness centers, saltwater pools, free coffee, dog spas and wine coolers.
While these finds obviously don’t reflect every neighborhood, it’s a good indicator of what you might expect to find when you start looking.
And as more and more apartments flood the city, rent is only going to get higher.
Despite the growing rent, we still have it pretty good when it comes to apartment living. Don’t believe me?
