South End sushi lovers get excited, Chipotle-style poke restaurant opening on South Boulevard this fall

Get ready, Korean food and raw fish lovers.

Seoul Poke is opening this fall at 3609 South Boulevard (right down the road from Scaleybark Station).

This fast-casual spot will offer build-your-own poke bowls (on rice, salad or chips), bibimbap (Korean rice bowl) and homemade juices, teas and lemonades. For those new to poke bowls, it’s a raw fish salad and a traditional Hawaiian dish. They’re freaking delicious.

Think Chipotle-style building but with tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tofu, chicken, and beef with lots of toppings. Prices will range from $10 to $14 per meal, and the restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Duy Nguyen, an operating partner, told the Agenda that they plan to add sushi burritos and kimbap (Korean rolls) once things get rolling.

The lease was just signed, and construction is set to begin by early July with a target grand opening in late August or early September (the Agenda will keep you posted as construction progresses).

Seoul Poke isn’t alone in the poke bowl scene.

Most recently, popular Uptown sushi spot Bonsai Fusion released a new poke bowl menu. The Poke Bonsai menu includes Tuna Poke, Salmon Poke, Seafood Trio, Yellowtail Poke and Tofu Poke. A small costs $8 and a large costs $14.
