Single? The Agenda wants to send you on a blind date for our new series, Chem 101 (take survey)

The dating scene in Charlotte is average at best, and I know that because not only did we survey our 23,000+ Agenda daily newsletter subscribers about it, but also because I’m in the thick of it.

36% of readers gave the Charlotte dating scene a B, 53% gave it a C or lower and only 8% gave it an A.

Comments ranged from “Same people. Men are just out to date as many women as possible. Women are looking for men with money.” to “Too many f***boys!!” to “Online dating = B+. Real World Dating = D+.”

We want to take some of the pressure off and try something new – we want to make it fun.

Enter Chem 101, our new 5-part blind date series.

How Agenda’s Chem 101 will work:

  • Single Charlotteans (of all ages) fill our detailed dating survey.
  • The Agenda will analyze survey responses and sets up 5 blind dates from the pool of survey participants.
  • If selected, you’ll go on a blind date (Agenda will pick up the tab).
  • I’ll then write up a quick story on the result! Simple, fun and free for you.

For now, the Agenda is only committing to 5 blind dates (we’ll do one per month). Think of this as a “Season 1 Pilot Series” — if readers and participants enjoy it, we’ll do a second season.

All you need to do is fill out our survey on things like your ideal first date, deal breakers, your type and favorite show to binge on Netflix.

The survey is longer than our typical Agenda surveys because we want to provide high quality matches. It takes about 10 minutes to complete.

When you get married to them next year, I expect an invite (and an open bar).

Single and want to participate? Here’s the survey.
