Hello Thursday.
I had to get blood drawn recently and I talked to the young guy doing my paperwork and taking my blood. It was just the two of us inside the entire Quest Diagnostic Center in Elizabeth, which was kind of creepy. I asked him where he went to school and he told me he started at ECU, but he wasn’t doing well and he didn’t see the value. So, he took the Phlebotomy track at CPCC and told me it cost about $2,000. This is why I freaking love CPCC. You get hard skills for an incredible value. I then asked him for his go-to order at Earl’s Grocery and he told me he’d never heard of it (even though it was 100 yards away). Shocked. I was going to yell at him, but I got kind of dizzy and left. Anyways.

The Charlotte streetcar: Y’all got it wrong
Op-Ed from Erin Chantry, an urban designer and planner. This well written argument has three main points: (1) The streetcar creates a market where there isn’t one, (2) The streetcar encourages the type of development that these neighborhoods need, and (3) The streetcar maximizes the infrastructure we have.
