With June right around the corner, we've got the rundown of the best rooftops, patios and beer gardens in town.
Why it matters: Because eating and drinking outside definitely counts as being outdoorsy.
Rooftop rendezvous:
🍕 Avanti F&B Boulder (1401 Pearl St.) — Avanti's fourth-floor rooftop offers some of the city's best Flatiron views. Grab cocktails and craft beer from the upstairs bar and bites from its rotating lineup of food vendors on the ground floor.
🔥 Rosetta Hall (1109 Walnut St.) — Housed at the site of the former Foundry/Absinthe/Boulder House (depending on your generation), Rosetta Hall pairs a food hall experience with a relaxing rooftop, complete with seating and fire pits.
🍗 West End Tavern (926 Pearl St.) — A longtime Pearl Street favorite, West End Tavern is known for its shaded rooftop, where smoked barbecue, whiskey flights and cold beer take center stage.
🥩 Corrida (1023 Walnut St.) — Perched above downtown, Corrida pairs sweeping Flatiron views with a sophisticated rooftop inspired by the great steakhouses of Spain.
Pearl Street patios:
🌮 Cozobi Fonda Fina (909 Walnut St.) — Chef Johnny Curiel's Boulder outpost features a 16-seat south-facing patio, where guests can enjoy margaritas or Old Fashioneds alongside traditional Mexican fare.
🍣 Casa Juani (901 Pearl St.) — One of downtown's newest additions, Casa Juani's 18-seat patio allows diners to enjoy Spanish seafood offerings from chefs Eduardo Valle Lobo and Kelly Jeun.
🏨 The Corner Bar (2115 13th St.) — This outdoor space attached to the historic Hotel Boulderado has long been a staple of the city's dining scene for locals and visitors alike.
🍷 Postino Boulder (1468 Pearl St.) — This funky chain brings its signature wine café atmosphere to downtown Boulder with a spacious patio designed for lingering over sharable plates and happy hour pitchers.
Best of the rest:
🛻 Rayback Collective (2775 Valmont Road) — The indoor-outdoor beer garden boasts fire pits, string lights and an expansive dog-friendly lawn. With a full bar, a wide selection of craft beer and rotating food trucks, there's something for just about everyone.
🍌 Crepe Therapy Café (2273 31st St.) — Chef Mawa McQueen's café offers a spacious patio in the Boulder Junction area, away from the downtown crowds.
🍺 Pattern Break Brewing (3550 Frontier Ave.) — The new operation moved into the former Sanitas Brewing space, but kept its large dog-friendly patio backing up to the train tracks. Grab a bench, a fire pit or a rocking chair and enjoy beers and burgers from the on-site food truck.
⛰️ Chautauqua Dining Hall (900 Baseline Road) — Nestled at the base of the Flatirons, guests can enjoy Colorado-inspired dishes, local beer and refreshing cocktails on the shaded outdoor terrace.
