DoorDash selected Austin as one of six cities for its expansion of Flavor Fest, an online, restaurant week-style campaign.
Driving the news: Company and city officials, including Mayor Kirk Watson, gathered at Leona in South Austin yesterday to urge residents to participate in Flavor Fest to help restaurants experiencing a summer slowdown.
"I'm happy to be part of pushing these local restaurants through Flavor Fest," Watson says.
What's happening: Use the DoorDash app until Aug. 23 for special deals for restaurants, with up to 30% off eligible orders.
Flavor Fest is also available in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami and Tampa.
By the numbers: DoorDash is investing more than $6 million in consumer offers, promotions and advertising for the six cities, according to the company.
