Start working on your box jumps — you could one day be a Spur.
What's happening: The Austin Spurs, the farm team for the NBA club, announced yesterday they will hold local player tryouts on Sept. 12 at Premier Athletic Complex in Leander.
Registration costs $175 (card) or $200 (cash).
Participants will take part in skill drills and scrimmages led by Austin's coaching staff. Members of the San Antonio Spurs basketball operations staff will also be on site to observe.
Up to three participants may be invited to Austin Spurs training camp.
By the numbers: Since 2013, 16 players from the team's local tryouts have made the Austin Spurs opening night roster.
Zoom in: Last year's local tryout class included Jayden Nunn, who appeared in 47 games for Austin during the 2025-26 season, averaging 15.2 points in 28.2 minutes.
