After margaritas triumphed in our recent Texas drinks bracket — not a huge surprise there — a few of you wrote in with your favorite margs around town.
Vicki F. points us to the frozen redhead margarita at Rio Grande in Hutto.
Diana B. swears by Curra's avocado margarita — "and I don't even like avocados!" she adds.
"Gil's margarita at Maudie's is my fave," reports long-time Austinite Charles C.
Steve W. tells us that Ramon at Güero's on South Congress "makes some of the very best authentic traditional margaritas we've ever had anywhere. And we've had margs all over the map."
And Gardner S. says that — true story — Pancho Morales, tapped as the inventor of the margarita, "made me a margarita in his El Paso home."
"He also wrote out the recipe with an illustration — a scrap of paper lost."
