A little over a week after triumphing in the ATX Open, Peyton Stearns is returning to the hard court in Austin.
Driving the news: The Austin 125 event features Stearns, a former University of Texas tennis champion, facing off against other professional women's tennis players.
The tournament, which runs from today through Saturday, is at the Courtyard Racquet Club, near the Pennybacker Bridge, at 5608 Courtyard Drive.
Tickets start at $30 per day for the opening rounds. Also in the draw is Ajla Tomljanović, an Australian player who has ranked as high as 32nd in the world.
Flashback: Stearns beat Taylor Townsend to win the ATX Open on March 1, as she rallied in the first set as the crowd got behind her.
What they're saying: The Longhorns-heavy support "fired me up today," she said in post-tournament remarks.
