Eager to expand their fanbase in Austin, the San Antonio Spurs are making appearances in town this week ahead of their games at the Moody Center.
Driving the news: The Spurs, led by French phenom Victor Wembanyama, will play the Phoenix Suns at 7:30pm Thursday night and the Sacramento Kings on Saturday at 7pm at Moody.
What's happening: Tomorrow, the Spurs host activities like a backyard-inspired carne asada celebration featuring free Taco Palenque, at its pop-up Casa de Spurs at 918 Congress Ave.
Today and tomorrow, fans can enjoy free coffee 7-11am at Jo's and Mañana locations.
On Friday, the Spurs will unveil a refurbished half-court at the Foundation Communities M Station Apartments in East Austin.
What they're saying: "As our fanbase across Central Texas continues to grow, Spurs Week allows us to deepen our connection with Austin in a way that feels authentic to the city," Brandon James, senior vice president of strategic growth and general counsel at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, said in a statement.
State of play: Winners of six consecutive games, the Spurs now sit second in the Western Conference.
