Your guide to MLK Day in Austin

Zoom in: Austin's annual city march kicks off at 9:30am on the south steps of the Capitol.

• After a rally at the Capitol, attendees will march to Huston-Tillotson University for a festival with local artists and vendors, 11am-3pm.
• Organizers are asking for donations of canned goods and nonperishable items.

Local restaurants and businesses are hosting their own events to honor MLK. Here are few:

🍽️ Grab brunch along the MLK Day March route at Busy Signal, where they'll have a $25 buffet and music from DJ Hella Yella. 11am-4pm.

❤️ Take part in a community donation drive at Pease Park. Bring non-perishable food items, diapers and period products to be delivered to the Micah 6 food pantry and the Austin Diaper Bank. Free, 9:30am-4pm.

🎨 Join a community gathering at Rozco's Comedy Club, featuring guided conversations crafting and youth-led performances. Free, 2-4pm.

🎙️ Listen to Black poets at The Vortex's open mic, hosted by author and performance artist Ebony Stewart. $5 suggested donation for listeners, 8-10pm.
