Icon unveils lakefront 3D printed homes

Austin company Icon has completed its first 3D printed model home at The Canyon Club, a luxury lakeside resort community about 45 minutes northwest of Austin.
The big picture: It's the latest development in Central Texas by Icon, which broke ground on 3D printed homes in the Mueller neighborhood earlier this year.
How it works: The 60-acre lakefront Canyon Club along Lake Travis will have 25 homes, most of which are traditionally built, along with five made by Icon's 3D printing technology.
- The traditionally built luxury homes will have five and six bedrooms and start at $2.6 million.
- The four-bedroom 3D printed homes will start with options of 1/4 fractional ownership starting around $800,000, with 12 weeks of usage per year per home.
Zoom in: Icon's 3,400-square-foot four-bed, four-bath model home is made of 3D printed concrete walls with finishes by Kempt Studio.
- The kitchen includes terracotta marble and white oak, while the bathroom features travertine floors and countertops.
- The resort community at 122 Shoreline Road will include a clubhouse, luxury spa, adults-only pool, a boat dock and chef experiences.
