Last week, for a story on restaurant survival rates, we asked which Austin eateries you missed most.
Turns out, there are a lot.
"Oh how I wishThreadgill's was still open 😭💜" wrote Patty G. — and at least a half-dozen of you said the same.
Kim G. recalled fondly the caponata with all the fresh veggies at Eastside Cafe — and her husband loved the yellow squash risotto at Mirabelle.
"The servers and atmosphere were amazing, too!" she wrote.
Gayle G. misses Las Manitas — one of our favorites — as well as Shady Grove and Mother's Cafe.
Nick C. is sentimental about the burgers at Holiday House — "similar to Whataburger, but actually home-cooked and fresh ingredients. And their shakes were unreal."
The Steeping Room gets a shoutout from Rachel B.: "I loved the ambiance, all the tea options (underrated), and the menu that had a lot of options in general, and a lot of allergy-friendly options for those of us dealing with those. :)"
Rolinda C. puts in a vote for Ruby's BBQ, which had "the best chopped beef sandwich with mustard potato salad that we'd get before going to the UT volleyball games."
🐄 True story: Asher's father-in-law smuggled pounds of Ruby's chopped beef — via suitcase — to London for Asher's brother-in-law's wedding.
