How to help after the Central Texas floods

Dozens of people — including at least 28 children — have died after severe flash floods inundated parts of Central Texas, including a girls' summer camp along the Guadalupe River.

The big picture: Flooding began early Friday about 65 miles northwest of San Antonio and then spread across the region, triggering evacuations and leaving communities in Kerr, Travis, Burnet and Williamson counties devastated.

We've rounded up ways to support those affected by the flooding.

Red Cross shelters and aid

The Red Cross has opened shelters for flood survivors in Kerrville and Comfort. They're providing food, shelter and emergency support. Donations help sustain their disaster response.

Volunteer crews are working around the clock.

TEXSAR, an all-volunteer search and rescue team based in Austin, has deployed to Kerr County.
The United Cajun Navy is also on the ground in Central Texas, assisting with rescues, supply deliveries and recovery support.

Good360 disaster relief

Good360 is mobilizing urgently needed supplies — including cleanup kits, bottled water, diapers, clothing and hygiene items — for families impacted by the flooding. Donations help distribute these essentials through local partners.

Austin Pets Alive!

The nonprofit has rescued more than 150 pets from flooded areas and is working with search teams to reunite animals with families. Donations go to pet supplies and medical care.

This group is providing hot meals to first responders and displaced residents in Texas. A $25 donation helps provide four meals. Volunteers are also needed.
