If free airport parking holds a deep allure and chatting about all things Austin makes your heart flutter, have we got the job for you.
What's happening: Officials at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are seeking volunteers for its Airport Ambassadors Program, a customer service initiative that aims to help travelers with their journey.
The ambassadors:
Offer directions to and from the airport and to local tourist attractions and landmarks.
Provide information on accessing airport services and navigating the terminals and airport grounds.
Assist travelers with the use of the digital courtesy phone.
📞 By the way: We're very excited to learn about the digital courtesy phone.
The requirements: Ambassadors must be at least 18 years old, punctual, own "a welcoming smile" and commit to fours hours of volunteering a week.
Follow the (non) money: For their troubles, ambassadors get free airport parking — for work or vacation — and discounts on airport concessions.
The bottom line: Ambassadors should "project a warm, friendly, and hospitable impression of the airport and the city of Austin," per a city description.
What's next: If you think you're airport ambassador material, contact the visitor information center supervisor at [email protected], or call 512-530-2414.
