With Election Day around the corner, Democrats and Republicans are urging Central Texans to vote early.
Rep. Gina Hinojosa, D-Austin, was at 24th and Guadalupe yesterday, encouraging University of Texas students to cast votes at the Texas Union polling center.
"Donuts and democracy," she chanted, as she gave away donuts and posed by a pickup truck with a Vice President Kamala Harris image.
That same hour, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican who could very well be the next Senate Majority Leader, cast his vote in northwest Austin, in a strip mall off MoPac.
Former president Trump, he told reporters, had "one of the most successful presidencies in recent times."
