😳 Asher here, still mesmerized by the feats of derring-do I witnessed Wednesday night.
I took my 6-year-old to see "Songblazers," an improbably fantastic mashup of circus artistry and country music playing at the Bass Concert Hall through Sunday.
Why it works: Produced by Cirque du Soleil in conjunction with Universal Music Group, the show includes live performances of "Crazy" against a comic tumbling routine, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" behind an entrancing trapeze performance, and "Can the Circle Be Unbroken" during the construction of a wildly acrobatic human pyramid.
There's a loose narrative tracking a pair of musicians who make it big in Nashville, but that plays second fiddle to a saxophone-playing, comically incompetent clown.
The bottom line: It's a sunny, toe-tapping show with fun costumes and great athleticism.
