Austinites will find 80 feet of art to admire the next time they head to an Austin FC game.
The latest: CapMetro unveiled the new mural mosaic, titled "The Heartbeat of Austin," at McKalla Station earlier this month.
The mosaic, which captures the faces of fans, public figures and transit workers, was designed by muralist J Muzacz of Something Cool Studio.
Over 100,000 individual glass pieces were hand-assembled by community members, local leaders and volunteers.
What they're saying: "It was incredibly rewarding to bring together so many people of all ages and abilities along for the process," Muzacz said in a statement. "The Heartbeat of Austin' is truly a culmination of our community's collective power to join together and create something beautiful and timeless, perfect in its imperfection."

The new station opened in February and is now the closest rail stop to Q2 Stadium.
