Why it matters: Time with his foster parents is running out … and he could end up back in a shelter.
Shadow was originally discovered at the height of a hot summer, abandoned in a park.
The city-run shelter has waived adoption fees.
Between the lines: The Austin Animal Center said its facility is overcrowded yesterday.
"Our goal is to get as many medium and large dogs as possible into foster and adoptive homes in order to avoid issuing euthanasia notices," Don Bland, chief animal services officer, said in a statement.
