President Trump told reporters Monday his administration is "looking at" the possibility of firing U.S. ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Why it matters: The president's comments follow a series of Wall Street Journal reports alleging that Guilfoyle used her political connections to seek financial favors and promote private business interests.

The allegations include claims that Guilfoyle, the former fiancée of the president's son Donald Trump Jr.. sought $100,000 from a Trump donor in exchange for access to administration officials and allowed a lobbyist into private diplomatic meetings.
Guilfoyle's representatives have denied that she did anything wrong.

What they're saying: Asked if he's considering firing Guilfoyle, Trump said: "We're looking at it, yeah. We're not happy."
