The Daily Wire to syndicate Clay Travis' new site Sport & State

The Daily Wire, a conservative news and entertainment company, said Wednesday it plans to syndicate Clay Travis' Sport & State, giving the startup sports site a much wider distribution arm.

Why it matters: The deal comes as the Daily Wire looks to expand its business as it seeks investors for a possible IPO.

Zoom in: The deal will also see the Daily Wire streaming Travis' popular radio program "The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show."

The Daily Wire says it's also planning "future collaborations and show appearances between the two conservative networks."

Catch up quick: Travis launched Sport & State in mid-August as his next major venture, following the sale of his popular sports blog The Outkick to Fox Corp. in 2021.

As a blogger and radio host, Travis was able to develop an early following of sports fans looking for a mix of commentary and analysis that extended beyond scores.
Over the past decade, he's translated that success into a sprawling empire of podcasts, sports sites, books and radio shows.

What to watch: The Sport & State deal appears be the beginning of the Daily Wire's broader push into sports entertainment and news programming as it looks to expand its audience.
