Dude Perfect's first-ever CEO Andrew Yaffe is parting ways with the viral YouTube brand, nearly two years after taking the role, Axios has confirmed.
Why it matters: Yaffe was hired to usher in a new era for the brand, as it looked to become a professional media company.
- The company, which was founded by five college friends 15 years ago, raised $100 million to fuel its expansion shortly before he was hired in 2024.
Zoom in: In a joint statement, Yaffe and the company's co-founders, often referred to as "The Dudes," positioned Yaffe's exit as mutual.
- "After two years of strong growth, Andrew and the Board have decided that now is the right time for new leadership at Dude Perfect. As the social media landscape continues to evolve, they developed different perspectives on the company's next phase and the best path forward," they said in a statement provided to Axios.
- "We're extremely proud of what we've accomplished together during one of the most active periods in our history."
- Co-founder Coby Cotton said on behalf of "The Dudes" that the group was grateful to Yaffe. "Thanks to the good, hard work from him and our growing team, we have some huge opportunities ahead of us."
Between the lines: Yaffe, who previously served as executive vice president and head of social, digital and original content at the NBA, built out Dude Perfect's C-suite and helped scale the company's product offerings and commercial partnerships.
- Fanatics veteran Rick Eddy joined as chief financial officer in late 2024. Live Nation's Stephen Sparks joined as general counsel in 2025.
- "Since Andrew joined in October 2024, revenues have grown significantly, driven by marquee partnerships with State Farm, Disney, BODYARMOR, and McDonald's, alongside significant brand expansion through the 2026 Squad Games tour, the launch of the Almost Athletes podcast, and Dude Perfect Outdoors," the Dudes and Yaffe said in a joint statement.
Zoom out: Dude Perfect initially planned to build a theme park in Texas, where the company is headquartered. Over the past few years, it shifted its strategy to instead focus on smaller experiential concepts.
- Patrick Hurley, a longtime investor and advisor to the company, will take the role as interim CEO as the company manages that strategic shift.
