Google on Wednesday debuted its latest crop of Pixel devices, including a new foldable smartphone along with other smartphones and accessories
Why it matters: The debut of a refreshed lineup comes amid soaring component prices and ahead of next month's expected debut of all-new Apple iPhones.
Driving the news: Here's a look at each of the new products.
- The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the priciest model in the new lineup, starting at $1,899 in the U.S. Google says it is more durable, nearly 10% lighter and roughly 1 millimeter thinner than last year's foldable.
- The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099, while the large screen Pixel 11 Pro XL starts at $1,299. The Pro includes an updated camera system with an improved main sensor and a redesigned 48‑megapixel 5x telephoto zoom. There's also a new array of LED lights around the cameras that can signify whether Gemini is "thinking" or if a favorite contact is calling.
- The standard Pixel 11 starts at $899. Among the updates is an all‑glass camera bar that Google says is more than 40% thinner.
- The Pixel Watch 5 comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes, starting at $399 and $429 respectively. A Stephen Curry edition of the watch—bundled with an exclusive sweat‑wicking performance band—will sell for $579.
- Google is also adding Pixel Tag, similar in concept to Apple's AirTag and similar object trackers from Tile, Samsung and others. The Pixel Tag will sell for $29, or $99 for a four-pack.
Zoom in: All of the new phones are powered by Google's Tensor G6 processor, which Google says can deliver up to 20% better power efficiency, 25% faster browsing, and 15% faster app loading.
- The added horsepower also helps power new AI camera features, including a new Magic Capture mode designed to allow people to stay in the moment rather than hunting for the perfect shot.
- The feature analyzes around 500 frames from a short clip and then picks the best moments—such as a nice smile or compelling action — and then applies light edits such as cropping, straightening, or unblurring.
- The Pixel Watch adds new health features, including the ability to track trends in blood pressure and insulin resistance over time.
