Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.) is hosting a mega fundraiser Tuesday night that aims to raise $1.4 million in a single evening for four of his Pennsylvania House colleagues, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Why it matters: The freshman senator is leveraging his Senate position — and extensive fundraising network — to boost the war chests of four Pennsylvania Republicans in competitive districts.
- The Georgetown event will benefit Reps. Rob Bresnahan Jr., Brian Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mackenzie and Scott Perry.
Between the lines: The co-chairs include some of the biggest names in GOP circles, including former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Wayne Berman, Jeff Miller, Jason Miller, David Urban, Dan Klingerman and Tony Sayegh.
By the numbers: Co-chairs were asked to contribute or raise $200,000, according to the invitation.
- Co-hosts were asked for $20,000 (PACs) or $14,000 (individuals).
- Attendees were expected to give $5,000 (PACs) or $3,500 (individuals).
Zoom out: Control of the House could hinge on Pennsylvania, a state Trump won twice and lost once.
- Fitzpatrick represents a district that former Vice President Kamala Harris won in 2024.
- Mackenzie's district is a swing seat that Trump carried by 3.2 percentage points.
- Perry, a frequent Democratic target, represents a district Trump won by 5.2 percentage points.
- Trump carried Bresnahan's district by 8.4 percentage points.
The bottom line: McCormick has raised more than $7 million for his campaign account and leadership PAC since being elected in 2024.
- He's willing to share his network for his Pennsylvania colleagues — and his party.
