President Trump's $400 million ballroom renovation to the White House remains up in the air — but it's far from his only legacy project in the works.
The big picture: Throughout his second term, Trump has been advocating for makeovers of the White House and promoting his name and likeness — many times in ways that have never been done by a president.
Catch up quick: Despite a judge halting the ballroom's progress earlier this week, the National Capital Planning Commission, stacked with Trump loyalists, approved the project.
- This could potentially give the Trump administration a stronger case in court as it seeks to overturn the judge's ruling.
State of play: Trump has given areas of the White House a Mar-a-Lago-style makeover, including adding gold accents to the Oval Office.
- He demolished the East Wing last year in order to build the new ballroom. The Rose Garden was paved over to install statues of three Founding Fathers — George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Benjamin Franklin.
- He's also proposed changes to the Trump Kennedy Center, which is slated to begin in July.

Trump's trademark at an airport
Trump and his team have capitalized on the Florida government's decision to rename Palm Beach International Airport for the president.
- DTTM, the company acting on behalf of Trump and his family, has submitted airport-related intent-to-use applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Two of them — "President Donald J. Trump International Airport" and "Donald J. Trump International Airport" — include items related to airport construction, as well as clothing for people and pets, bags, watches, socks and other merchandise.
This is unprecedented, as no other sitting president has had an airport named after them, and because Trump's team is looking to apply his private business and name to airports, which are public buildings, experts told Axios.
- The Trump family has denied they will receive any "royalty, licensing fee, or financial consideration" from the airport's name change, but experts say that trademarking the airport's name has no impact on whether they can make money from it.
Trump's Miami presidential library
Trump's foundation shared first-look photos and a video of his planned presidential library in downtown Miami earlier this week.
- The photos show off a skyscraper with a model Air Force One plane inside and golden statues of Trump, too.
The intrigue: This would be Florida's first presidential library and represent a significant change to the Miami skyline.
"Arc de Trump"
Trump suggested building a massive arch as a grand entrance into Washington from Arlington National Cemetery.
- "Let's build something like the Arc de Triomphe in that space, it would be beautiful when you drive or fly in," Trump told a White House visitor, Axios previously reported.
The location — referred to colloquially as "Arc de Trump" — has also been called the Memorial Circle arch or Independence Arch and has been proposed as a monument to honor America's 250th anniversary.
- In December, Trump suggested construction would begin in early 2026. But the proposed monument has faced legal challenges and construction has yet to start.
U.S. money
The Treasury Department said in March that it will be adding President Trump's signature to U.S. currency to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.
- Trump's name will replace U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach on U.S. cash.
- U.S. currency has only carried the signatures of the Treasury secretary and the U.S. treasurer since 1914. A sitting president's name has never appeared on American cash.
Similarly, the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts approved a plan for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin bearing Trump's image.
- Calvin Coolidge is the only other sitting president to appear on a United States coin. He was added to the 1926 Sesquicentennial of American Independence Half Dollar.

Dulles and Penn Station
Flashback: Trump has suggested renaming two iconic locations after himself, too — New York's Penn Station and Washington's Dulles International Airport.
- The suggestion came after Trump offered to drop his hold on billions of funding for a major infrastructure project in New York, but only if Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer agreed to rename those locations after the president, Axios' Stephen Neukam writes.
- The White House later confirmed the idea was floated, but did not share any specific details.
