Trump addresses speculation about his health

President Trump on Tuesday addressed social media rumors about his health — including that he had died.

Driving the news: During a press conference, Trump said he was "very active" over the weekend and called the speculation "fake news."

The rumors were fueled by days without official public appearances from Trump and photos of bruises on his hand.
"NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE," Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social in response to a post about his wellbeing.

Context: Trump was reluctant to release medical records demonstrating his physical and cognitive wellbeing during the 2024 election.

In July, the White House announced that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. At the time, his doctor said he was otherwise in "excellent health."
