Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell secures DOJ "limited" immunity: News reports

Context: Proffer immunity agreements are standard practice for cooperators in criminal cases, and Maxwell's immunity was dubbed "limited" because it only applies if she tells the truth, NBC News reported.

Zoom in: Maxwell, who is currently appealing her conviction, spoke to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for about nine hours over two days.

• Maxwell's attorney David Markus told ABC News on Friday she was asked about "maybe 100 different people" and "She didn't hold anything back."
• He added: "This is not a situation where we are asking for anything in return for testimony or anything like that. Of course, everybody knows Ms. Maxwell would welcome any relief."

What he's saying: The president told reporters before flying to Scotland on Friday that he "hadn't thought" about pardoning Maxwell, but noted that he would be "allowed to do it."

The DOJ and Markus did not immediately respond to Axios' requests for comment.
