Police arrest man accused of road rage against Rep. Max Miller

• Capitol Police identified the suspect as Feras S. Hamdan and said he has been charged with Aggravated Menacing.
• "The investigation is still unfolding," the department said in a statement, noting that the arrest came less than 24 hours after Miller filed his report.

What happened: Miller said in a social media post Thursday that he was "run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off."

• "The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control," he said, adding that he filed a police report and knew the identity of the alleged assailant.
• Miller has said he plans to make the police report he filed public.

Zoom out: The incident came during a period of heightened security fears among members of Congress following the shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers and their spouses over the weekend.

• House Democratic leadership pointed to the road rage incident as evidence that there needs to be increased funding for members' security.
• The Capitol Police, in their statement Friday, called the speedy arrest "a prime example of the USCP's stance towards threats against our elected officials. We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy."
