Three Sound Talent Group employees died on a small plane that crashed into a house in a San Diego neighborhood on Thursday morning, the music agency confirmed.
The big picture: Authorities said six people were aboard the Cessna 550 when it crashed near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport around 3:45 a.m. local time and at least eight people were injured in the incident.
Zoom in: National Transportation Safety Board official Elliot Simpson said at a briefing the plane "struck power lines" before crashing into a house.
- Sound Talent Group confirmed its co-founder Dave Shapiro, whose clients include rock bands like Sum 41, died in the crash, and the father of Daniel Williams said the former drummer of The Devil Wears Prada was also aboard the plane.
What they're saying: "We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends," Sound Talent Group said in a media statement. "Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today's tragedy."
- The Devil Wears Prada said in an Instagram post, "♥️ no words. We owe you everything. Love you forever."
What's next: The National Transportation Safety Board is leading an investigation with the Federal Aviation Administration into the crash.
