Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts to skip Eagles' White House visit with Trump

Jalen Hurts, Super Bowl MVP and quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, will skip the traditional post-win White House visit with President Trump.

The White House said that Hurts will not attend due to "scheduling conflicts," NBC News' White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor said on X.

Hurts previously did not respond to a question about visiting the White House.

Catch up quick: The team's star running back, Saquon Barkley, came under fire from some fans for playing golf with Trump on Sunday.

"Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT," Barkley posted on X Monday.
"Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day."
Trump was seen exiting a helicopter and walking with Barkley after their golf game.
"What a nice guy he is," Trump said afterward. "I wanted to race him but I decided not to do it."
Prior to the Super Bowl, Trump called Barkley "one of the best running backs," and said that Hurts was "a great quarterback."

Barkley and the Eagles are set to visit the White House on Monday.
