Rep. Crenshaw says he'd "kill" Tucker Carlson in hot mic moment

• Carlson has called Crenshaw one of the "dumbest, most liberal" Republicans. Crenshaw has called Carlson a "click-chaser" and "elitist."
• The pair has also clashed over sending aid to Ukraine and immigration policy.

Driving the news: After an interview with conservative British news channel GB News's Correspondent Steven Edginton where Crenshaw criticized Carlson's opposition to sending aid to Ukraine, Edginton asked Crenshaw if he'd ever met Carlson.

• "We've talked a lot on Twitter," Crenshaw said. "If I ever meet him, I'll f— kill him."
• GB News posted the exchange in a since-deleted video on X.
• Edginton quoted the post saying, "Proof Dan Crenshaw said he would KILL Tucker Carlson if he met him. He told me when I laughed it wasn't a joke."

In response to an Axios request for comment, a spokesperson for Crenshaw sent a screenshot of a Daily Caller story.

• The Caller had asked if Crenshaw's statement was serious, and his spokesperson was quoted as replying: "No, of course not."

What they're saying: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tagged Crenshaw in a post asking if he threatened to kill her friend, to which he responded: "lol, no."

The other side: Carlson invited Crenshaw to sit with him for an interview after the clip circulated.
