What a last-minute Super Bowl trip will cost you

The best day to fly into New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX festivities is Sunday, according to travel booking company Skiplagged.

The big picture: The $156 price is the average one-way fare into the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) across all cities.

The cheapest one-way flights out of New Orleans are on Monday, Feb. 10 ($125) and Wednesday, Feb. 12 ($132).

Zoom in: Fans are traveling over 911 miles on average to see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ticket vendor Vivid Seats.

Airbnb says top guest origin cities for its bookings include Philadelphia, Kansas City, New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Jersey City and Chicago.

Hotels for Super Bowl weekend are averaging $650 a night, according to Hotels.com.

Prices at last year's big game in Las Vegas averaged $747 a night.
