Pam Bondi gets Judiciary panel nod to serve as Trump's AG

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12-10 along party lines Wednesday to recommend Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi's confirmation.

Why it matters: President Trump is now a step closer to installing a loyalist in the nation's highest law enforcement role, empowering a MAGA overhaul of the Justice Department that could include investigating his political enemies.

During her Jan. 15 confirmation hearing, Bondi echoed President Trump's persistent claims that the charges he faced stemmed from politically motivated prosecution driven by President Biden's DOJ.
