Taco Bell drive-thru customers could be the next Super Bowl commercial stars.
Between the lines: The fast-food restaurant is returning to the NFL's finale after a three-year hiatus.
The intrigue: For the next two weeks, Taco Bell is hosting pop-up photo booths at drive-thrus in California, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Florida.
What they're saying: "For our return to football's biggest stage, we're sidelining the celebrities and turning the camera on the fans who already make Taco Bell what it is," chief marketing officer Taylor Montgomery said in a statement.
How it works: Customers can visit a participating location, open the Taco Bell app, log in, and proceed through the drive-thru.
- At the end of the drive-thru, participants will stop under the Live Más Drive Thru-Cam and scan a QR code to initiate the photo countdown, which then snaps a series of six photos of both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle.
- Afterward, two digital photo strips are sent via email.
Customers who opt-in will be considered to appear in Taco Bell's Super Bowl commercial.
Details: The photo booths will be open from 2–10pm at these locations during the following dates:
- Dec. 3–Dec. 5: 1604 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, California
- Dec. 4–6: 17565 E Bagley Rd., Middleburg Heights, Ohio
- Dec. 10–12: 310 Big Mac Dr., Cookeville, Tennessee
- Dec. 11–13: 15797 JFK Blvd., Houston, Texas
- Dec. 17–19: 116 W Rea Rd., Wauchula, Florida.
