Rick Scott scores major MAGA momentum for Senate Republican leader

• "Any leader of this new majority must be able to work hand-in-hand with President Trump to advance his America First agenda," Hagerty posted on Saturday.
• "That's why I want to see a Senate Majority Leader who can join me in embracing the Trump agenda, which will unify Senate Republicans. On Wednesday, I will be voting for Rick Scott," he continued.

The intrigue: Tucker Carlson also threw his weight behind Scott on Saturday.

• "Rick Scott of Florida is the only candidate who agrees with Donald Trump. Call your senator and demand a public endorsement of Rick Scott," he posted.
• This comes after several other influential conservatives and MAGA personalities have been pushing his leadership candidacy online.
• While Trump himself discounted Scott's leader candidacy to allies in the weeks before the election, Scott also has support from people close to Trump.

By the numbers: Scott's total public endorsements from Senate colleagues is now up to three — with backing from fellow conservative Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

• Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) has two: Sens. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla) — a close Trump ally — and fellow South Dakotan Mike Rounds.
• Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) got public backing from Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) this week.
