Tucker Carlson to stump with Trump in campaign's closing days

Tucker Carlson will stump with former President Trump in the swing state of Georgia on Wednesday evening, and tells Axios he hopes to make at least one more joint appearance before Election Day.

Why it matters: Carlson — widely criticized for giving oxygen to false claims about COVID vaccines, the Holocaust and more — remains popular and influential with the MAGA base, 18 months after Fox News canceled his show.

Carlson — who now heads a booming Tucker Carlson Network of podcasts, films and events — will appear with Trump on Wednesday evening in the Atlanta suburbs at Gwinnett County's Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Charlie Kirk, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and other Trumpworld luminaries are also scheduled to appear.
Carlson also hopes to meet up with Trump for a Halloween show on Oct. 31 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, outside Phoenix, as an "Election Special Grand Finale" of the "Tucker Carlson Live Tour," which has sold out arenas nationwide. But that isn't nailed down.

What they're saying: Carlson — who spoke at this summer's Republican National Convention and has known Trump through media circles since the 1990s — told Axios he'll tout Trump's commitment to the "foundational issue" of freedom of speech.

"Trump will let me and every other American say what we think," Carlson told us before heading out to hunt grouse. "I love Trump."
