2024 World Series on pace to be highest-selling in history

Tickets to the 2024 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees are on track to being the highest-selling in years on Vivid Seats and StubHub.

Zoom out: StubHub reports that sales for Friday's Game 1 in LA are triple those of Game 1 of both the 2023 and 2022 World Series.

By the numbers: Overall ticket prices are much higher, too.

The average sold price of tickets on Vivid Seats is $1,368. Last year's average was $685.
The most expensive game in the series is Game 3 at Yankee Stadium — with an average ticket price of $1,443 and a get-in price of $1,021.

Flashback: Seeing the Dodgers in the World Series four years ago would have cost $689 on average.

The average ticket price for the Yankees last World Series (2009 vs. the Philadelphia Phillies) was $550.

Fun fact: According to Vivid Seats data, fans are traveling 446 miles, on average, to catch this year's World Series, up 63% compared to last year.
