Harris campaign attracts Lizzo and Usher

By the numbers: Georgia started early voting on Tuesday, and more than one million votes had already been cast by Friday, Gabriel Sterling, the chief operating officer of Georgia's Secretary of State's Office, announced on X.

• By 1:30pm Saturday, the state had achieved record turnout for a general election, with 102,519 Georgians casting votes, Sterling wrote on X.

What they're saying: Harris mentioned the records in Georgia and one in North Carolina, which saw 353,166 voters cast ballots on its first day of early voting on Thursday.

• She asked the crowd at Detroit's Western International High School who the capital of producing records was while chuckling.
• "So we are going to break some records here in Detroit today because we know what is at stake and we know the power of the people," Harris said.

In Lizzo's speech, she referenced a line disparaging Detroit that former President Trump made on Oct. 10 to the Detroit Economic Club.

• "They say if Kamala wins then the whole country will be like Detroit," Lizzo said, "proud like Detroit, resilient like Detroit."
• "We're talking about the same Detroit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry, so put some respect on Detroit's name," she added, revealing that she voted for Harris.
