Taylor Swift mania is about to sweep another few American cities with the last leg of the Eras Tour starting Friday in Miami.
Why it matters: The highest-grossing tour of all time has boosted local economies across the country last year and drove travel demand across the country and overseas.
- Now, Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis are expected to each get their own mini-economic boom with their three-night stints before the tour goes to Canada.
Swifties traveling for Eras Tour
The big picture: Fans are traveling to different states to catch shows because they grabbed tickets to whatever stop that they could.
- American Airlines told Axios that it will operate more than 1,600 flights to the destination cities throughout each weekend for the final leg of the Eras Tour.
Zoom in: Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto and Vancouver have turned into hot spots for fall getaways because of the tour, according to trends from American Airlines bookings.
- Nearly 75% of passengers are female — a 33% increase from a year ago for the same dates and destinations, American Airlines said.
- Roughly 60% of passengers are millennial or younger — up 30% from the year prior.
Remaining Taylor Swift Eras Tour dates
Here are the final Eras Tour dates:
- Miami: Oct. 18-20
- New Orleans: Oct. 25-27
- Indianapolis: Nov. 1-3
- Toronto: Nov. 14-16, 21-23
- Vancouver: Dec. 6-8
Eras Tour book coming to Target Black Friday 2024
What's next: Target announced it will release two exclusive Taylor Swift items starting Black Friday, the official "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book" and "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology" with bonus songs on vinyl and CD.
- The items will first be available in Target stores on Nov. 29 when stores open and will then be available Nov. 30 on the retailer's app and website.
Our thought bubble: Releasing the exclusive items in stores first is a reversal from the COVID Black Friday trend of pushing popular items online.
- Expect many Swifties to camp out at Target early Black Friday.
