What time is the debate tonight?
The debate starts at 9pm ET.
- In Central Time, the debate starts at 8pm CT, which is also 7pm MT or Mountain Time and 6pm Pacific Time.

The debate will air on CBS News and other major networks, including ABC, CNN, Fox News, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, C-SPAN, PBS, NewsNation and BBC.

Who are the VP debate moderators?
The vice presidential debate will be moderated by CBS "Evening News" host Norah O'Donnell and "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan.

How long is the Walz-Vance vice presidential debate?
The debate is 90 minutes and includes two four-minute commercial breaks, CBS News said.
Vice president debate rules
Zoom in: Walz will be introduced first, as the candidate of the incumbent party, per debate rules announced by CBS last week.
- There will not be opening statements and each candidate will have two minutes to answer questions.
- They will each have one additional minute for rebuttals. Moderators, the only ones permitted to ask questions, will be able to decide whether to give the candidates another minute, the rules say.
- Candidates will have two minutes for closing statements. Vance won a coin toss determining the order and opted to go last.
Between the lines: Both mics will be on during the entire debate, unless CBS News opts to mute them.
