Georgia school shooting victims identified

• Both 53-year-old Irimie and 39-year-old Aspinwall taught math, according to the school's website. Aspinwall was also the defensive coordinator of the school's football team.
• Of the additional nine people wounded, eight were students and one was a teacher, per a GBI statement Wednesday evening.

What they're saying: "Those that are deceased are heroes in my book," Georgia Bureau of Investigation director Chris Hosey said at a Wednesday night news conference. "Those that are in the hospital recovering right now are heroes in my book."

Zoom in: Apalachee's head football coach Mike Hancock remembered Aspinwall as "a great dad, man, and a great father," who "loved his two girls and he loved his wife," per the Athens Banner-Herald.

• "He did happen to love the game of football and he was well respected around this area," Hancock added.
• Doug Kilburn, a friend of Schermerhorn's mother, told the New York Times that the 14-year-old boy "really enjoyed life" and "always had an upbeat attitude about everything."
