Between the lines: Notably, Harris spoke first at the event and left the stage as Biden began his remarks.

Zoom out: Biden, set to headline the Democratic National Convention's opening night in Chicago next week, said drug pricing is something he had wanted to achieve since first coming to Washington in the 1970s.
