Exclusive: DNC to stream vertically on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube

• Roughly one-third of Americans ages 18 to 29 say they get news regularly on TikTok, which only streams vertical video, per Pew Research Center.

Reality check: While the convention will be streamed by an array of news networks, the vast majority of people who view conventions — or a live broadcast of any major political event — tend to be older than 55.

Zoom in: The event will also be streamed live on an array of horizontal social and streaming platforms, including Amazon's Twitch, X, and Amazon Prime Video, the committee said in a statement.

• The event, taking place in Chicago from August 19-22, will be available to be streamed directly from the major streaming operating platforms, such as Apple TV, Roku and Amazon's Fire TV, as well as through TV provider platforms such as Comcast Xfinity X1 and U-verse TV.
• Content across four days will be available via English and Spanish language audio, along with corresponding captions in both languages.
• The DNC will also provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and audio description services to streaming partners, it said.
