3 Columbia deans who engaged in texts with "antisemitic tropes" resign

• A fourth dean who was involved, Josef Sorett, will remain at the university, per the New York Times, which was first to report the resignations.
• Sorett is tenured, unlike the other three deans. They were identified as Cristen Kromm, former dean of undergraduate student life, Matthew Patashnick, former associate dean for student and family support, and Susan Chang-Kim, former vice dean and chief administrative officer.

They could not be reached for comment and Sorett did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment.

• The House Committee on Education and the Workforce then released copies of the exchanges as part of ongoing investigation into antisemitism.
• University president Minouche Shafik said in a statement to the campus community last month that the "incident revealed behavior and sentiments that were not only unprofessional, but also, disturbingly touched on ancient antisemitic tropes."

• She called it "unacceptable and deeply upsetting."
