"We Love Trump": RNC crowd gives GOP nominee a warm welcome

Driving the news: Appearing on the Jumbotron with a bandage over his injured ear, Trump drew huge cheers from the convention attendees.

• He then stepped onto the convention floor with a wave and a few pumps of his fist as Lee Greenwood sang his patriotic ballad "Proud to be an American."
• Trump then shook hands with his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), along with members of his family and GOP VIPs, and took his seat between Vance and TV host Tucker Carlson.
• The crowd chanted "USA, USA" and "We Love Trump."

The other side: Biden condemned Saturday's attack on his rival, saying in an Oval Office address the country must "lower the temperature in our politics."

• But speaking to NBC's Lester Holt in an interview aired Monday, the present drew a sharp contrast between himself and Trump, saying, "He talks about, there will be a bloodbath if he loses, talking about how he's going to... suspend the sentences of all those who were arrested and sentenced to go to jail because of what happened at the Capitol."
