Elon Musk to move X, SpaceX to Texas over California gender identity law

• California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill into law on Monday, making it the first such law in the U.S.

The big picture: Musk wrote on X: "This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas."

• The law prevents schools from disclosing a child's gender identity to any other person without that child's permission.
