Biden hasn't "watched the whole debate" that upended his campaign

• Holt asked if Biden was seeing what other people saw at the debate — namely a president who looked confused and somewhat frail, and gave halting answers as he stood across from Trump.
• Biden countered by asking why the media doesn't do more to report the lies Trump told during the debate, "Twenty-eight times, it's confirmed, he lied in that debate. I had a bad, bad night. I wasn't feeling well at all. And-- and I had been-- without making-- I screwed up."
• "I didn't have to see it. I was there," Biden said of the debate.

The bottom line: The president's roughly 18-minute-long interview was not gaffe-free.

• Biden referred to his Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle as a "him."
• He incorrectly called Justice Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion written for the Trump immunity case a dissent. The dissent was written by Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
• Biden also appeared uncertain about whether he'd spoken to former President Obama in the weeks since the debate, telling Holt he "may have spoken" to Obama since then. Reporting from the Washington Post indicates that the two spoke in the days after the June 26 debate.
