Schumer had "good meeting" with Biden in Delaware

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) traveled to Delaware on Saturday to meet with President Biden in person, calling it a "good meeting" but offering no tangible sign of support for the embattled president.

Why it matters: It was the first known face-to-face meeting between Biden and Schumer since the president's disastrous debate more than two weeks ago.

"I sat with President Biden this afternoon in Delaware; we had a good meeting," Schumer said in a statement.
That statement was noticeably cooler than his previous insistence that "I'm for Joe."
It comes after Axios reported on Thursday that Schumer was privately signaling to donors that he's open to a Democratic presidential ticket that isn't led by President Biden.
